MGM Brings on a Star-Studded Evening to Celebrate its Colorful Legacy in Film and a Diversified Portfolio of Art and Culture Events

Hosts Official Closing After Party of the Inaugural International Film Festival & Awards • Macao

[December 14, 2016, Macau] Committed to creating great moments that bring artistry and entertainment to life, MGM has long been staging world-class art and culture events for all to enjoy. This year, MGM is proud to be part of the inaugural International Film Festival & Awards Ÿ Macao (IFFAM). As the IFFAM drew its curtain on December 13, MGM hosted the Official Closing Party to celebrate the successful conclusion of the event.

A stepping stone to the international film festival roadmap, the hosting of IFFAM reinforces Macau’s status as an international arena where important industry events are held, where key players are gathered to discuss the future of entertainment.”

Fulfilling its ongoing efforts in supporting the creative industries, MGM has been transforming its wealth of experience in showcasing phenomenal artworks and world-class events into good cause for the filming industry. With the brand’s rich legacy in the movie-world, MGM has actively supported the filming of Look for a Star (2009), Book of Love, the second installment of Finding Mr. Right (2016) and Skiptrace (2016) at its MGM MACAU. The Company capitalizes the film opportunities to showcase the joyful discovery of multifaceted Macau, not only convincing local community and fellow visitors, but also the massive film audience across the world. Along with the support to IFFAM, MGM is taking steps further to become a driver in the diversification and sustainable growth of Macau.

The evening was attended by an international cast of film industry veterans and upcoming talent, art and culture supporters from Macau and Hong Kong to celebrate the success of IFFAM, including Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, President of IFFAM Organizing Committee; Mr. Shekhar Kapur, Jury President of IFFAM, and IFFAM award winners including Mr. Feng Xiaogang (Career Achievement Award), Ms. Jennifer Yu (Best New Young Actress), Ms. Tracy Choi (director of “Sisterhood”, winner of Macao Audience Choice Award),  along with renowned actor, actresses and filmmakers from the region: Ms. Miriam Yeung, Ms. Josie Ho, Ms. Ann Hui, Ms. Lisa Lu, Mr. Rhydian Vaughan,  Mr. Zhang Hanyu, Mr. Paco Wong, Ms. Gloria Yip, Ms. Jacquelin Ch’ng, Ms. Karena Lam, Ms. Qi Qi, Ms. Jennifer Tse.

The HK$24billion project is expected to open in second quarter of 2017.
