The musical endeavor is Plácido Domingo’s first performance in Macau, and is a testament to MGM China’s commitment to bringing superb international cultural and art experiences to Macau.

A private after-concert cocktail was hosted for the highly acclaimed tenor at MGM MACAU. Over 100 VIPs attended the event, and distinguished guests include Mr. Ung Vai Meng, President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macau; Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of the Macau Government Tourist Office; Mr. Leung Hio Ming, Vice President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macau; Ms. Cecilia Tse, Deputy Director of the Macau Government Tourist Office; Mr. Kent Ieong, Chief of Cultural Activities Department of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macau and Ms. Zhong Yi, Director of the Macao Foundation. Ms. Pansy Ho, Co-Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China and Domingo greeted and mingled with guests, sharing their thoughts on arts and the development of arts and culture in Macau. Everyone had a good time, with the party and celebrations continuing into the night at Grande Praça, underneath another spectacular art piece, the Valkyrie Octupus, created by world-renowned contemporary Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos for MGM MACAU.

“Plácido Domingo is the world’s most operatic virtuoso, having played over 140 different operatic roles around the world. And now for the first time, we have the privilege to enjoy his powerful performance right here in Macau. It is our honor to be part of such a wondrous art event which deeply enriches the cultural experiences found in Macau”, said Ms. Pansy Ho.

The gala concert, comprising opera, operetta and classical music was Domingo’s first performance ever in Macau, bringing with him his hand-picked artists and accompanied by the Macao Orchestra. Domingo is a highly reputed tenor for his outstanding skills and artistic achievements, and is one of the "Three Tenors" of the world.
