Women’s Team Places Top Three in the 2018 Macau International Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race 500M
MGM Dragon Boat Team members paddled their hearts out and best demonstrated the Golden Lion Team spirit at the 2018 Macau International Dragon Boat Races. After ten months of intensive practice and hard work, the women’s team won the second runner-up in the Macau International Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race – Women Category 500M, which is the best amongst the Macau local teams. While the men’s team made their best efforts in the races, and was the only team to represent Macau at 2018 Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races with invitation from the Hong Kong China Dragon Boat Association.
In the final round of the Macau International Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race – Women Category 500M, the MGM Women’s Dragon Boat Team competed amongst several strong national teams from Asia and eventually won the second runner-up, being the best amongst the Macau local teams.
Mandy Cheng, drummer of the MGM Women’s Dragon Boat Team expressed her joy after the competition, “For the past 300 days, our team members have maintained an intensive 5-day training every week after work and it took at least two hours each day. We have invested ourselves a lot to reach new heights in this competition, and I am glad that all our efforts paid off, with placing top three in the Macau International Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race, a significant achievement compared to the 6th place last year.”
