MGM Women’s Team Wins First Runner-up in Dragon Boat Race
MGM women’s team finished second in the Macao Standard Dragon Boat Race – Women Category (500m).

MGM women’s team yesterday delivered impressive performance at the Macao International Dragon Boat Races 2020, winning the first runner-up in the Macao Standard Dragon Boat Race - Women Category (500m). The accomplishment demonstrates once again the exceptional capability and perseverance of the Golden Lion Team.

MGM management team members converged on the competition venue to roar for MGM Dragon Boat Team, including Kenneth Feng, President of MGM China Holdings Limited; Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources; Sean Lanni, Senior Vice President of International Marketing and Tian Han, Senior Vice President of Gaming Operations & Strategic Marketing of MGM. Their support was complemented by the hurrah of the cheerleading squad of the Golden Lion Team, which formed a powerful morale booster. MGM women’s team is comprised of 30 team members from Table Games and Food & Beverage department, 97% of whom are locals. They delivered brilliant performance and finished second in 2 minutes 21 seconds.

Cheng In Han from Table Games, who participated in the dragon boat race for the third year, said: “Dragon boat races put team spirit and full cooperation to the test. With an average age of 42, our biggest challenge was to enhance our physical strength. The pandemic also made quite an impact on our preparation, so we had to dedicate more time to training. I am thrilled to see our efforts paid off. And I’d like to express my gratitude for the Company’s support and our trainer’s patience and guidance.”

Last December, MGM arranged its Dragon Boat Team to visit Jiujiang Training Center of China Dragon Boat Sports Demonstration Base in Foshan of Guangdong, the cradle of national athletes. MGM members grasped this opportunity to chat with local teams in a bid to improve their performance.
