MGM has won four awards in the "3rd 2018-2020 Family-Friendly Employers Award Scheme" organized by The Women’s General Association of Macau. As the only integrated resort and hotel operator in Macau attaining the "Outstanding Family-Friendly Employer Award", MGM also earned the “Excellent Family-Friendly Employer Award” for the third time, as well as the “Family-Friendly Employer Award” and the “Breastfeeding-friendly Workplace Award”. These accolades are a testament to MGM’s outstanding performance in implementing the family-friendly employment policy and helping team members build strong bonds with families.
Ms. Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of MGM, said, “MGM has always been striving to create a healthy and friendly working environment for our team members. We also extend our care to their families in order to foster a sense of belonging among the team, which encourages them to give their best at work. These awards highlight MGM’s commitment as well as our determination to promote the family-friendly culture. We will continue to support our team members in pursuing personal growth, as well as family and career goals through diversified policies and practices, with the aim of increasing morale and team spirit.”
MGM launched various programs to build a caring and family-friendly culture that upholds work-life balance for team members. These include the 24-hour Mothers Zone, the Quiet Zone and the Internet Café for team members to take rest. The Company also enhanced the maternity and paternity benefits with effect from June 1, 2018. Meanwhile, the “Employee Assistance Program” launched since 2010 provides both 24-hour hotline and one-on-one counselling service to team members and their families.
Apart from family activities held regularly, team members are encouraged to serve the community together with their families through volunteering. With emphasis on the health and development of team members’ children, MGM organized educational activities such as “The MGM Experience” to learn about the operations of an integrated resort and “MGM Children’s Health Day” to provide free medical checkups.
"Family-Friendly Employers Award Scheme" was first organized by The Women’s General Association of Macau in 2014 and this year is the third edition. Aiming to encourage enterprises to promote family-friendly culture, the Scheme has received wide recognition in Macau. Through the launch of various programs, MGM hopes to help team members strike a good work-life balance, while maintaining a harmonious family relationship.
