MGM Donates to Holy House of Mercy’s Welfare Shop for Ten Consecutive Years
MOP3 million to Date in Support of Food Hamper Project
MGM donated MOP300,000 to the Macau Holy House of Mercy’s Welfare Shop project for ten consecutive years, funding the distribution of food hampers to nearly 400 local households in need.

MGM donated MOP300,000 to the Macau Holy House of Mercy’s Welfare Shop project for the 10th consecutive year — in a bid to fund the distribution of food hampers to nearly 400 local households in need. To date, MGM has donated an aggregate of MOP3 million to the project.

On April 11, MGM’s management team members, together with the Golden Lion Volunteer Team, visited the Macau Holy House of Mercy’s Welfare Shop, where they were warmly welcomed by António José de Freitas, President of the Board of Trustees of Macau Holy House of Mercy. Kenneth Feng, President, Chief Strategic & Financial Officer of MGM, presented the donation check to António José de Freitas, with the presence of the representatives of other beneficiary organizations, including Leong Heng Kao, Supervisory President of General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macau (UGAMM), and Sam Iat Kuong, Vice President of Board of Macao Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM).

To comply with the Macau government’s anti-epidemic guidance, the food hampers distribution will be completed in two days from April 11-12. MGM has specially designed compact, portable and reusable handcarts for the food hamper distribution. Each food hamper contains daily necessities such as rice, noodles, canned food, oatmeal, cooking oil, etc. — packed by MGM’s management team members and over 20 Golden Lion volunteers. The food hampers will be delivered to local families in need, referred by FAOM, UGAMM, the Macau Holy House of Mercy, and the Associação dos Familiares Encarregados dos Deficientes Mentais de Macau.

Having embraced the social responsibility vision to “Create a Better Tomorrow Today”, MGM has been supporting the Welfare Shop project since its launch in 2013. Through this philanthropic tradition, MGM has endeavored to help families ease their financial burdens, spreading love into the local community.
