MGM’s Emerald Villa Garners Top Prize at International Property Awards
Winner of the Best Hotel Interior Macau – Asia Pacific 2022
The Emerald Villa of MGM COTAI won the Best Hotel Interior Macau - Asia Pacific 2022 at the International Property Awards.

The Emerald Villa of MGM COTAI is honored to win the 5-star accolade, the highest level of honor, in the category of Best Hotel Interior Macau - Asia Pacific 2022 at the world-renowned International Property Awards, regarded as one of the most important events in the global property industry. The International Property Awards bring the number of international interior design prizes recognizing the Emerald Villa to three in total in just one year after its launch— In 2021, the Emerald Villa was named the Winner at the SBID International Design Awards 2021 in the Hotel Bedroom & Suites Design category, as well as the Platinum Winner at the 2021 MUSE Design Awards in the Interior Design (Hotels & Resorts) category.

Kenneth Feng, President, Chief Strategic & Financial Officer of MGM, said, “MGM is delighted that the Emerald Villa was named by the International Property Awards the Best Hotel Interior Macau in the Asia-Pacific region. This award further strengthens MGM's credibility to offer its guests a world-class luxurious accommodation portfolio with masterly craftsmanship as well as its capability to lure clientele from all over the world. While the design of the Emerald Villa is totally customer-centric, a lot of green concepts have been incorporated which led us to this prestigious global recognition. This accolade has not only motivated the entire Golden Lion Team to continue to offer our best to our guests, but also made us proud to further help strengthen Macau’s position as a World Center of Tourism and Leisure.”

Designed by Westar Architects International Limited, the Emerald Villa is the latest addition to MGM's luxurious accommodation portfolio. Each of its 28 villas is a treasure chest filled with magnificent art pieces and cultural elements, immersing its guests in an unbounded experience where modern aesthetics meets traditional Chinese heritage. The Emerald Villa vividly embodies MGM’s steadfast pursuit of exquisite craftsmanship and its “Originality + Innovation” spirit.

At Emerald Villa, aesthetics and functionality are the core of its multiple award-winning design. Some unique design features include the centerpiece diamond-shaped aquarium enlivening the 3-bedroom villas with its traditional symbol of good fortune and vitality; the custom-made rotatable sand art piece resembling Chinese landscape paintings; the bespoke gold ingot-inspired bathtub pampering and amazing guests; the KTV rooms with rhythm interactive lighting wall feature, Rio Chaise Lounge by famed Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, and so on. These remarkable fixtures are intended to ensure a delightful, cozy and fun stay for family travelers and increasing sophisticated guests who seek an exceptional hotel experience.

Established in 1993, the IPA has been one of the world’s premier annual awards for the global property industry. Its judging panel comprised of international leading experts across all sectors of the property industry validates the Emerald Villa’s first-rate standard of craftsmanship.
