MGM Organizes Macau’s First “Inspiring Stories of Zhang Jian Multimedia Presentation”
MGM National Education Series Welcomes a Brand-new Chapter
MGM organized the first “Stories of Zhang Jian Multimedia Presentation” in Macau.

Recognizing national education as a key pillar of its talent development, MGM has been organizing a wealth of activities centered around patriotic education, helping team members keep abreast of the nation’s development. This year, the MGM National Education Series marches into a new chapter – MGM launched the “Inspiring Stories of Zhang Jian Multimedia Presentation” in partnership with Nantong Overseas Friendship Association, Federation of Nantong Industry and Commerce and Federation of Nantong Overseas Chinese, and Nantong Friendship Association of Macau, Nantong Commercial Association of Macau and Association of Patriotism Exchange (Macao) as supporting units. The Presentation introduces the history of the patriotic entrepreneur Zhang Jian and attracted over 200 team members of MGM, representatives of local community groups and local youth. Through highlighting Zhang Jian’s keen spirit of entrepreneurship and his love for the country, the organizers hope to strengthen the sense of social responsibilities and the important national doctrine of “Four Matters of Confidences” among the participants.

“Inspiring Stories of Zhang Jian Multimedia Presentation” offers an in-depth introduction of Zhang, one of the greatest entrepreneurs in contemporary Chinese history, who was also a great educationist and philanthropist. The Presentation, categorized into four aspects, namely “Entrepreneurship as the Savior of the Nation”, “National Revival Led by Education”, “Cultural Constructions” and “Charitable Works”, is a story-telling multimedia documentary that thoroughly depicts the life of Zhang, through the use of speeches, letter reading and interviews. Since its debut in June 2017, the Presentation event has taken place in several major Mainland cities such as Beijing and Nanjing, and it has since been included in the program of Zhang Jian Entrepreneur College. With all the positive feedback, it has even made its international debut at the headquarter of United Nations in 2018. The Presentation has attracted over 25 million views online over the past five years.

Kenneth Feng, President, Chief Strategic & Financial Officer of MGM, said, “MGM hopes to inspire our team members and local youth with the core values adhered by Zhang Jian, which are ‘patriotism, broad-mindedness, innovation, reliability, and commitment to social responsibilities’. Amid the swift economy recovery in Macau, we hope that our team members may continue to equip themselves to grasp opportunities ahead, and at the same time carrying out the spirit of perseverance and innovation, while having a sense of social responsibility. MGM will continue to deepen the cooperation between Jiangsu province and related units, and we hope to develop this project into one of our key talent development programs between Macau and Jiangsu.”

The launch ceremony of “Inspiring Stories of Zhang Jian Multimedia Presentation” took place at MGM COTAI. A range of guests of honor from various sectors attended the activity, including Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao SAR, Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau, Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited, University of Macau, Macao Polytechnic University, Macau Institute of Management, Macao Federation of Trade Unions and General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau. The Company will continue to partner with Zhang Jian Entrepreneur College and roll out more diverse talent development projects to enrich its MGM National Education Series.
