MGM named “Role Model of Sustainability” & “Outstanding Employer” at the 12th CFS
MGM was named “Role Model of Sustainability” & “Outstanding Employer” at the 12th China Finance Summit (CFS).

MGM has been dedicated to aligning with the Nation’s "Dual Carbon" strategy. The Company has assumed a pioneering role in driving the high-quality development of low-carbon hotels in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), integrating environmental responsibilities and climate actions into every aspect of its business operations and corporate culture. These efforts have earned MGM two accolades – “Role Model of Sustainability” and Outstanding Employer Award” at the 12th China Finance Summit (CFS) held earlier in Beijing – in recognition of the Company’s efforts in fostering a sustainable future. The CFS, as China’s one of the most influential platforms in the economic realm, joined hands with various corporate brands this year to host a sustainability conference to chart a new era of green development.

This year’s CFS attracted nearly a thousand corporate entrants. A judging panel comprising top minds in the fields of economy and sustainability as well as business leaders singled out the winners based on six indicators, including innovation, ownership, influence, driving force, sustainability, and boldness. MGM is honored to be the first company in Macau to receive these two awards.

Kenneth Feng, President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, said “MGM has been innovative and decisive in sustainability. Under the guidance of the national Dual Carbon strategy, we have taken forward-looking approaches to advance the green development of the hotel industry, and proactively align with the low-carbon goals set forth by the nation and the Macau government. In support of the Macau government’s “1+4” diversified development, MGM has developed comprehensive and cutting-edge resources to facilitate the personal growth of team members. Moving forward, we will continue to provide concrete support for Macau’s pursuit of high-quality development.”

MGM has been at the forefront of green development within the GBA, setting regional examples in green building, energy conservation, decarbonization, waste management, smart technology, green procurement and more. With a mission of “Creating a Better Tomorrow Today”, MGM has been bolstering the sustainable development of Macau – through its five strategic focuses: People, Community, Planet, Guests & Partners, and Governance. The Company sets impactful carbon-reducing targets, such as lowering energy consumption by 13% by 2025 (compared to the 2019 baseline), and adopting a full electric shuttle fleet in 2023, with a view to further contributing to the Nation’s Dual Carbon goals.
