MGM Co-organizes the First RG Training Course for Different Unions
The "Contributing a Harmonious Community - Responsible Gaming Promotion Ambassador" Certificate Training Course, has been held recently.

To fully build a harmonious and healthy society, MGM jointly organized the "Contributing a Harmonious Community - Responsible Gaming Promotion Ambassador" Certificate Training Course (Course), with the Macao Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM) and the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home Integrated Services Centre recently. As the gaming employees have received regular and systematic training of responsible gaming (RG) for many years, the organizers provided this first RG training course for people outside the gaming industry, with the aim to establish a safety net in different industries for further extending the prevention of gambling disorder in the society, and enhancing people’s knowledge of RG.

The Course was instructed by Davis Fong, Director of the Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming of the University of Macau, and Pak Kin Pong, Director of the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home Integrated Services Centre. It focused on the importance of implementing responsible gaming policies, local measures to prevent and control gambling disorder, and how to encourage people in trouble with gaming to ask for help. The Course has attracted 150 participants, who are key members and volunteers from the 8 major unions under the FAOM, including the Macao Construction Industry General Union, the Macao Manufacturing Industry General Union, the Commercial Employees’ General Association of Macau, the Service Sector Employees' General Association of Macau, the Macao Federation of Transportation, the Macau Civil Servants Federation, the General Association of Macau Clerical Employees and the Macau Gaming Enterprises Staff’s Association.

Besides, the organizers prepared the "Responsible Gaming Promotion Box" for participating unions, which was made up of RG related books, gambling disorder assessment tools, inquiry leaflets, and RG games, allowing more people in these unions to learn about RG information.

MGM, FAOM, and the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home Integrated Services Centre have strengthened their collaboration since 2023, hosting a series of diversified promotional activities to spread the RG message into different parts of society. Moving forward, MGM will continue to join hands with various sectors in Macau raising the public’s awareness of RG, which will not only reinforce the city as a safe tourism destination, but also form a sustainable social environment.
