This summer, guests are invited to savor an immersive afternoon tea experience at the European-inspired Grande Praça of MGM MACAU with prestigious Portuguese tea and pastry line ups from now until September 29. The exclusive Vibrant Summer Afternoon Tea Set at Rossio highlights artisan tea options from Madeira Island and Douro, traditional Madeira Cake, and an array of delectable delicacies, aiming to transport everyone’s senses for an incomparable summer vacation to the Atlantic archipelago.

The afternoon tea experience features two premium tea brands from Portugal, 1419 TEA^®️ and Infusões com História, while the former is debuted in Macau officially for the first time. With over 600 years of tea-making experience in Madeira, 1419 TEA^®️ showcases only the locally sourced ingredients and teas, capturing the unique mineral flavor of the Madeiran volcanic soil and the essence of its natural environment. Infusões com História features artisanal tea with wild plants and botanicals from Douro. Another highlight of the afternoon tea experience is the Madeira Cake, also known as “Bolo de Mel”, from the long-established recipe tracking back to the 18^th century. It is traditionally served by tearing into pieces by hand, and its brownish and sticky texture are provoked by the molasses extracted from the island’s cane crop, spices and nuts. Last by not least, guests should not miss the delectable range of sweet and savory treats, as well as a selection of reputable tea options from the tea trolley.

Upon its launch at Rossio, MGM has invited Nelia Alves, Chief Executive Officer of 1419 TEA^®️; and João Paulo Canas, General Manager and Brand Ambassador of Chábom, from Madeira to unveil the establishment of the line up in Macau. MGM has also invited Portuguese tea master to conduct tea training for the Golden Lion Team at Rossio, underlining the commitment of service excellence.
