The annual MGM signature mega event, MGM Oktoberfest Macau at MGM 2024 kicked off today at MGM COTAI, rocking the town until November 5 with a 12-day authentic German bierfest! Empowered by the synergy of gastronomy, creativity, culture, festivals and tourism, MGM not only presents traditional German food and brews this year, but also offers an array of surprises to elevate the party’s atmosphere to its peak. The German Oktoberfest music band HÖGL FUN BAND from Munich brings a dynamic live performance to the city once again, alongside with German performers in traditional attire singing and dancing joyously.
The Oktoberfest Macau at MGM 2024 is again supported by the Macao Government Tourism Office of Macao SAR (MGTO) and the German Macau Business Association. The event was officially kicked off with the traditional beer keg tapping ceremony by Kenneth Feng, President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited. Other officiating guests at the ceremony were Sun Yaohua, Director of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR; Fu Aimin, Director General of Department of General Affairs of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Macao SAR; Stefan Bredohl, Consul General of The Federal Republic of Germany in Hong Kong; Cheng Wai Tong, Acting Director of MGTO and Tony Un, Chairman of The German-Macau Business Association.
Kenneth Feng, President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, said, “Since MGM introduced this traditional German cultural mega event to Macau in 2009, Oktoberfest Macau at MGM has developed as a signature extravaganza of gastronomy and entertainment in town. Throughout the past 13 editions, it has attracted more than 180,000 residents and tourists, which perfectly manifests the synergy of gastronomy, creativity, culture, festivals and tourism. This year’s Oktoberfest is held for the fourth time at the outdoor venue of MGM COTAI, where locals and visitors can enjoy an innovative experience of cultural diversity prepared elaborately by MGM. Apart from this event, the third “MGM Chef Nic Gastronomusic Fest” is also coming up, with the objective to enhance Macau’s cultural tourism offerings with a series of original entertainment events, while showcasing the city’s unique charm as ‘Creative City of Gastronomy’ and ‘City of Performing Arts’.”
This year, MGM brings a variety of new elements - authentic Munich snacks and vegetarian dishes, including Roasted Pork Shoulder with Potato Dumpling and Dark Beer Sauce, Spaetzle Gratin with Caramelized Onions and Cheese, Bratwurst Sausage and so on. The event also features multiple visual and auditory enjoyment: HÖGL FUN BAND from Germany will return to town with the staple theme song of Oktoberfest Macau at MGM, “Nei Hou, Macau!” to hype up the night. An immersive and authentic vibe of German Oktoberfest with blue-and-white Bavarian patterned beer tent and traditional long wooden tables, along with genuine German Oktoberfest brew Löwenbräu, traditional German food and beverage, carnival booth games and cheer with waitresses in dirndl costumes. Every detail drives to a cultural extravaganza blending entertainment, great food, and culture.
Oktoberfest Macau at MGM 2024 takes place between October 25 and November 5, from 6pm to 12am daily at the 1/F Roof Terrace of MGM COTAI. Admission tickets and table reservations are available for sale at both MGM properties, with limited discount for Macau residents and M life members.
