The third edition of the “MGM Chef Nic Gastronomusic Fest”, organized jointly by MGM and Nicholas “Chef Nic” Tse, took place on November 30 and December 1 at MGM COTAI’s Roof Terrace. This highly anticipated large-scale outdoor music and food festival attracted the attendance of 7,000 locals and international tourists. The event featured 10 celebrated chefs from MGM and Chef Nic’s teams, presenting a diverse variety of delectable culinary offerings; additionally, popular Southeast Asian restaurants Keng Eng Kee (KEK) Seafood from Singapore and After You from Thailand flew in with their signature dishes to wow all epicures on-site. Live performances from top singers from Hong Kong - China, South Korea and Thailand fired up the two nights with all spectators, transforming the Gastronomusic Fest into a multi-sensorial experience filled with music, flavors and taste, demonstrating the charm of Macau as a Creative City of Gastronomy.
As an international platform for gastronomical and cultural exchanges, the Chef Nic Gastronomusic Fest 2024 featured Nicholas “Chef Nic” Tse leading a team of six chefs comprising of Danyi Gao, Edward Voon, Beichuan Yang, Domino Dee, Amanda S., and Hilda Chan; alongside MGM’s all-star culinary team including Homan Tsui, Tam Yim Chan, Tiago Reis and Sihui Pan. Together, they presented over 20 culinary creations of the world’s cuisines and served up a rich and eclectic menu that wowed attendees with every bite. Additionally, the two trendy restaurants from Southeast Asia — Singapore’s KEK Seafood, which was ranked on 2021’s Asia’s “50 Best Restaurants – Essence of Asia” list and was also featured nine times on the Michelin Guide; alongside Thailand’s popular dessert parlor After You delighted with their signature offerings from overseas.
Besides the star chefs and top restaurants, an exciting line-up of Asian pop singers also graced the two-day festival — aside from Chef Nic himself, who was pulling double-duty between frying woks in the kitchen and rocking out on the stage, there was also Hallyu queen Jessica Jung dazzling audiences with her spectacular performance on the first day. On the second day, Thai pop duo SCRUBB of hit drama “2gether” fame heated up the stage alongside Hong Kong stars Gin Lee, Yan Ting, Jeffrey Ngai, Jace Chan, Tyson Yoshi, Alex Fong, Cloud Wan, and new girl group VIVA, delivering a marathon of top-tier performances to attendees.
