MGM’s two regional Chinese restaurants, Imperial Court and Five Foot Road, have once again been crowned with One-Diamond awards from China’s acclaimed dining guide – Black Pearl Restaurant Guide 2025. To celebrate the accolades, the Executive Chef Homan Tsui who helms Imperial Court and Executive Sous Chef Yang Dengquan of Five Foot Road, are excited to invite guests from near and far to experience the new tasting menus, showcasing the finest regional specialties from Lingnan culture and the essence of Sichuan cuisine respectively.

Established 8 years ago, the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide has gradually become a well-respected guide among the Chinese gourmet. By 2024, over 300 restaurants in 30 cities around the world were being featured, which indicated that there is increasing influence on the diversity of the Chinese cuisines globally.

Imperial Court

Showcasing the essence of Lingnan cuisine, Imperial Court is where the time-honored classics from Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, as well as Hakka origins meet with Chef Homan’s unconventional spark and this freshest ingredient selections. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Chef Homan recreates some of the best kept comfort foods of the Lingnan gastronomic heritage in his new six-course Black Pearl Degustation Menu this year, including the signature dish Crispy Chicken Skin with Shrimp Mousse and Salted Fish Flakes, as well as the Double-boiled Sea Whelk Soup with Fresh Yellow Fungus and Seaweed, and more to greet his guests.

Five Foot Road

Guests are welcome to embark on a classic Sichuanese fine dining experience at Five Foot Road, featuring authentic flavors beyond the public perception of fiery and hot. With nearly four decades of culinary experience, Chef Yang bestows his deep understanding of the preciseness of Sichuanese cuisine, enabling guests to experience the sumptuous 24-taste-profile. Chef Yang’s new 8-course Black Pearl Tasting Menu features the Stewed Matsutake Mushrooms with Minced Chicken and Egg White in Bouillon and Crispy Halibut with Sichuan Peppercorn Sauce, as well as Braised Fish Belly and Fish Maw with Red Bell Pepper and Pickled Chili Sauce and more to impress discerning palates.
