MGM Hosts “2025 Amazing Songkran in Macau”
Expanding Tourist Markets to Bring International Guests to Macau
MGM hosts the “2025 Amazing Songkran in Macau” dinner.

[April 16, 2024, Macau] MGM is keen to expand the international tourist market, aiming at supporting the Macao SAR Government to reinforce the city’s status as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure. As Thailand is one of MGM’s important international target markets, the Company has been celebrating the Songkran Festival with Thai guests in Macau since 2019. This year, continuing this meaningful tradition, MGM invited 200 discerning guests from Thailand to “2025 Amazing Songkran in Macau” dinner at the Vista of MGM COTAI, fostering cultural exchange between China and Thailand.

Distinguished guests who attended the dinner included Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office; Elaine Wong, Director of Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute; Hubert Wang, President & Chief Operating Officer of MGM China Holdings Limited; Frederica Fok, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing of MGM; and Justin Lu, Vice President of Regional Marketing of MGM.

Frederica Fok, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing of MGM, said during her speech at the dinner, “MGM is committed to working with the Macao Government to promote the city as an international travel destination. Last year, we saw a 15% increase in the number of Thai visitors to our properties. We have achieved this through the establishment of our Bangkok office, targeted marketing promotions, and a collaboration with the EM District earlier this year, all of which have helped raise awareness of the MGM brand in Thailand.”

The celebration featured traditional Thai boat noodles, seafood platters, and specially curated Sino-Thai fusion dishes, all thoughtfully prepared by MGM, as well as a lucky draw session. The atmosphere was enhanced by festive Thai decorations that filled the venue with a vibe of anticipation and excitement. MGM has also invited Thai actress and singer Rhatha Yaya Phongam to perform at the celebration, adding an authentic and warm Thai festive atmosphere to the dinner.
