[May 20, 2025, Macau] Led by a lineup of its senior executives, MGM held the annual blessing ceremony for its Dragon Boat Team at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Center earlier, aiming to express best wishes to the team who will take part in the “2025 Macao International Dragon Boat Races”. The team comprises 58 members—nearly 95% of whom are local employees, forming eight squads to compete in five events, namely the standard dragon boat races in the open, women’s, and newly introduced mixed categories, as well as the small dragon boat races in the open and women’s categories.
Senior executives of MGM, including Hubert Wang, President and Chief Operating Officer of MGM China Holdings Limited; Antonio Menano, Executive Vice President of Legal and General Counsel of MGM; Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of MGM, performed a series of traditional rituals, such as offering incense, carving a suckling pig and more, with the Golden Lion Cheerleading Squad’s on-site cheering for the Dragon Boat Team. The ceremony is to wish for a great and safe dragon boat race.
Hubert Wang, President and Chief Operating Officer of MGM China Holdings Limited, said, “This year marks the 18th anniversary of MGM, as well as our 18th consecutive year participating in the Macao International Dragon Boat Races. This steadfast commitment not only reflects our respect for the race but also highlights our dedication to honoring and preserving traditional Chinese culture. As an intangible cultural heritage, dragon boat racing embodies the spirit of unity, collaboration and perseverance—values that seamlessly align with MGM’s core principles. We extend our heartfelt wishes to the Golden Lion Team—may they ride the waves with strength and spirit, achieve outstanding results and showcase the determination and teamwork that define the MGM family.”
