MGM’s PRIDE Program Explores the Greater Bay Area
In-Depth Journey into Emerging Industries and Regional Synergies
The delegation visited several leading tech enterprises in Shenzhen

[June 3, 2025, Macau] In support of Macao SAR Government’s “1+4” strategy for economic diversification and to cultivate cross-disciplinary talents, MGM Academy recently rolled out the “The PRIDE Career Development Program – Greater Bay Area Study Tour”. Themed around “Innovation-driven, cultural integration, and industry synergy”, the tour brought 30 MGM team members on a three-day immersive journey across the Greater Bay Area (GBA), to explore cutting-edge technologies and cross-sector practices in arts and cultural tourism, while inspiring them to discover more opportunities in the integration of “technology + cultural tourism”. Representatives from the Guangdong Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government also joined this tour.

Exploring the Frontiers in Tech and Cultural Tourism

During the three-day trip, the delegation visited several leading tech enterprises in Shenzhen, including Tencent Headquarters, the Intel Greater Bay Area Innovation Center, Unilumin Group Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Zhongqing Robot Technology Co., Ltd., in which the participants gained insights into the latest advancements in AI, cultivation of technological talents, chip application development, smart city, innovative display technologies, and humanoid robotics.

In the culture and arts sector, the group visited the Sea World Culture and Arts Center and K11 ECOAST in Shenzhen, experiencing a dynamic ecosystem that blends “culture + commerce + community”. In alignment with Macau’s positioning as “a base for exchange and cooperation where Chinese culture is the mainstream and diverse cultures coexist”, the delegation also discussed innovative approaches to local cultural IP development, curation of art exhibitions, and immersive experience design. They also engaged in interactive exchanges with cultural tourism experts in Shenzhen and representatives from MGM Reserve Zhuhai, fostering knowledge sharing and collaborative development of the regional cultural tourism industry.

Innovative Talent Cultivation to Drive Diverse Industries

Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of MGM, said, “MGM is committed to nurturing talents through innovative and diversified approaches, and leveraging our unique strengths to drive the high-quality development of our team. This tour not only enabled our team members to explore best practices and innovations in the GBA’s technology and cultural sectors, but also embodied the core philosophy of our PRIDE program — providing comprehensive training for high-potential local talent across all levels, empowering them to grow and thrive. Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen our cross-disciplinary talent development framework, promote innovative thinking and drive industry integration, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of Macau’s economic diversification.”

Amania Kuok, Resort Technology Manager of MGM,  one of the participants in the tour, said, “I am truly grateful to MGM for organizing this enriching journey. Over the three-day multi-dimensional visit, it gave me a deeper understanding of technology, culture, service, and history. As a member of the Technology Department, I will transform what I have seen and learned into momentum for our team, exploring more innovative initiatives to enhance customer experience and create more great moments for our guests.”

Inspiration of History

Since this year marks the 100th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s passing, the delegation also made a special visit to the Museum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen in Zhongshan. The visit offered a moment of reflection on the pioneering spirit of this national hero, and reinforced MGM’s commitment to building a corporate culture rooted in historical awareness and social responsibility.
