30 participants were awarded a joint certificate from DSAL and MGM

[June 17, 2025, Macau] Upholding its core belief to build a world-class talent pool for Macau, MGM strives to provide a wide variety of on-the-job training and development opportunities for its team members. In support of the Macao SAR Government’s “1+4” development strategy of appropriate economic diversification, and further boost the growth of MICE, as well as the cultural and sports industries, MGM partnered with the Labour Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR Government (DSAL) to launch the “Professional Workforce Development Series-Emcee Skills Training Program”. Coordinated by the Macau Live Streamer and Influencer Association, the program is designed to enhance team members’ presentation and grooming skills, thereby elevating the customer experience and contributing to the development of the related industries.

The closing ceremony of this program has been held recently at the MGM COTAI Grand Salon, attended by a group of distinguished guests, including: Chan Tze Wai, Deputy Director of DSAL; Tammy Lei, Head of Skills Evaluation Division of Vocational Training Department of DSAL; Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of MGM; Francis Tan, Vice President of Learning & Talent Management of MGM; Benjamin Hong, Executive Director of Learning & Talent Development of MGM; the program’s featured speakers, José Chan Rodrigues, President of the Macau Live Streamer and Influencer Association, and Shi Yu, the styling consultant of Macau Lotus TV.

30 team members from various departments took part in the 10-hour immersive training, which covered four key areas: public speaking fundamentals, emcee styling and grooming, stage presentation, and thematic speech delivery. Upon completion and assessment, participants were awarded a joint certificate from DSAL and MGM.

Chan Tze Wai, Deputy Director of DSAL, said, “Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential for tourism professionals to deliver high-quality service. To continuously enhance the professionalism and presentation skills of industry professionals, DSAL and MGM have pioneered and jointly launched this program. Not only will this program strengthen their skills through systematic learning, but also further polish Macau's ‘golden business card’ as an international metropolis."

Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of MGM, said, “At MGM, our team members are the most valuable assets, and we are committed to supporting their holistic advancement. Outstanding communication skills are a vital gateway for conveying corporate image, a key  to event success, and a core competency in delivering premium service. This program further enhances our team members’ overall capabilities and self-confidence—empowering them to build confidence through their voice and convey professionalism through their presence. We will continue to roll out diverse initiatives, providing a solid platform for team members’ development and driving high-quality growth for both the company and the industry.”

Since 2020, MGM has partnered with DSAL to deliver professional training to over 5,700 team members. This long-standing collaboration reflects MGM’s commitment to developing an international tourism talent pool and reinforcing Macau’s position as a “World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.” Looking ahead, MGM will continue to offer more learning opportunities to cultivate more outstanding talents for the industry.
