[June 30, 2025, Macau] The MGM Golden Lion Team delivered an exceptional performance, winning a total of 13 awards at the Seventh Macao Integrated Tourism and Leisure Enterprises Vocational Skills Competition. Organized by the Labour Affairs Bureau and the Macao Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM), the competition is made up of three major competitions: the Gastronomy Vocational Skills Competition, the Hotel Integrated Service Vocational Skills Competition and the Gaming & Entertainment Vocational Skills Competition. MGM specially appointed and trained 24 elite team members from its Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Facilities Management, and Table Games departments to participate.
In the “Gastronomy Vocational Skills Competition,” the team won the Gold Award in the “Chinese Cuisine” category for the third consecutive year and stood out as the only team to receive both the Best Team Performance Award and the Best Dish Made with Designated Ingredients Award. Additionally, they earned the Special Gold Award and Table Setting Efficiency Award in the “Western F&B Service” category.
In the “Hotel Integrated Service Vocational Skills Competition,” the team secured the Special Gold Award in the “Room Make-Up” category for the sixth consecutive year and received the Best Work Safety Awareness Award for the second year in a row. They also achieved Gold Award and emerged as the sole recipient of the Best Teamwork Award in the “Facilities Maintenance” category.
In the “Gaming & Entertainment Vocational Skills Competition,” the team continued their winning streak by securing the Special Gold Award in the “Customer Service” category for the third consecutive year and achieved 1st Runner-Up in the Group category and 2nd Runner-Up in the Individual category of “Chipping,” along with a Bronze Award in “Game Rules”. All these impressive results underscore the team’s outstanding professional skills and reflect MGM’s strong commitment to talent development.
On the day of the event, Hubert Wang, President & Chief Operating Officer of MGM China Holdings Limited; Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources, Tian Han, Executive Vice President & Chief Gaming Officer and Iwan Dietschi, Senior Vice President of Hospitality, along with other MGM management members, attended the event to cheer on the participants, showcasing the true spirit of the Golden Lion Team.
