“The MGM Experience” Inspires Youth to Explore Future Careers
Fostering a Culture of Care Through Community Service
A total of 200 students participated in the 2025 edition of “The MGM Experience”

[August 5, 2025, Macau] Today’s youth are the future of our society. Dedicated to nurturing the young generation of Macau, MGM has hosted its annual summer program, “The MGM Experience”, for 14 consecutive years. Through this initiative, MGM aims to help local youth make the most of their summer break by providing them with opportunities to explore behind-the-scenes operations at the integrated resort through immersive, hands-on learning. The program also engages participants in volunteer activities with the Golden Lion Volunteer Team, instilling values of kindness, respect, and social responsibility into the students from an early age. This year, the program welcomed 200 students from 33 secondary schools — the highest number of participating schools to date.

The program was conducted in two sessions with participants aged 13 to 17 referred by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, the Macao Catholic Schools Association, and the Chinese Educators Association of Macau. Some participants were also family members of MGM employees. Guided by experienced Golden Lion team members, the students spent two days getting a first-hand look at how different teams across the resort contribute to daily operations, including food and beverage, front desk, bell service, spa and fitness, wardrobe and linen, floral design, facilities management, resort technology, arts and culture, supply chain services, and human resources. MGM also arranged a visit to the POLY MGM MUSEUM, giving students not only an inside look at resort operations but also a deeper understanding of the trend of cultural tourism development.

Kenneth Feng, President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, said: “Through ‘The MGM Experience’, we introduce young people to the caring culture of MGM, allowing them to experience teamwork within the Company and the value of giving back to the community. We hope to inspire them to become compassionate and responsible members of the next generation, contributing to a more inclusive society in Macau.”

As part of the program, students visited the Macau Special Olympics and the Fuhong Society of Macau, where they took part in inclusive workshops. They also spent time with elderly residents at the elderly centers operated by Caritas Macau, the Macao Federation of Trade Unions, and the Women’s General Association of Macau. Students also explored the Macau Assistive Technology Resources Center and experienced wheelchair cleaning and sterilization services. In addition, they toured Macau’s first one-stop “Family Education Experiential Zone”, co-developed by MGM and the Women’s General Association of Macau, where they learned about the evolving roles of family members across life stages, and the importance of treasuring family bonds and embracing social and familial responsibilities.

On July 30, MGM hosted a sharing session and certificate presentation ceremony at the Ballroom of MGM COTAI. Four student representatives took the stage to reflect on their experiences. Hannah Lee, a student at The International School of Macao and daughter of an MGM team member, shared: “I was assigned to the pastry kitchen, where our mentor patiently taught us how to make cakes. I gained valuable technical skills and was truly inspired by the precision and teamwork of MGM’s staff. This experience also gave me a deeper understanding of my father’s work environment and made me more grateful for the efforts my parents have made for our family. During our visit to an elderly center with Golden Lion Volunteer team members, I came to understand how even small gestures can make a big difference in someone’s life. These two days have helped me reflect more deeply on my future career and inspired me to give back to the community in the future."

MGM also invited Kate Lai, a recipient of the “Macau Outstanding Teenagers Award”, to speak at the event. She shared how she discovered her aspirations, developed diverse interests, and engaged in volunteer teaching, encouraging participants to pursue their passions and contribute to society.
