MGM is committed to the well-being of its team, believing that its team members are the foundation of the Company’s long-term success. With that in mind, MGM hosted its “MGM Family Carnival” under the theme of “Happy Family”, inviting employees and their families, along with parents and children from several local social service organizations, to enjoy a variety of booth games and parent-child workshops designed to strengthen communication and bring families closer together.
The carnival kicked off on August 23 at the Ballroom of MGM COTAI. Held across three sessions, it drew more than 1,000 participants who came together to enjoy warm and joyful family moments. Among them were parents, children, and seniors from the Macau Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM), the General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macau (UGAMM), the Women’s General Association of Macau, the Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society, Caritas Macau, and the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office. By partnering with these community groups, MGM hopes to further promote family-friendly values and contribute to a more harmonious society.
Kenneth Feng, President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, said: “A happy family isn’t built on formalities or routines, but on every moment of genuine companionship and heartfelt connection. Our colleagues dedicate themselves to their work every day, keeping the Company running. After work, they carry the responsibilities of being parents and children at home. This carnival is our way of encouraging both our colleagues and local families to slow down for a day and simply enjoy time with their loved ones.”
The event featured five parent-child workshops centered on culinary fun and creative arts. Alongside the workshops, booth activities highlighted the importance of family teamwork, understanding the challenges of elderly care, and practicing positive parenting, blending fun with education to promote harmony at home.
During the opening ceremony, MGM hosted a sharing session where a certified instructor from the “6A’s Positive Parenting Program” joined two award-winning MGM team members to share valuable insights on maintaining family harmony and building strong parent-child relationships. The team members had received the “All-round Dual-Career Male Award” and the “Excellent Dual-Career Female Award” at the 3rd Outstanding Dual-Career Families Award Program.
Guests at the opening ceremony included Huang Huagai, Deputy Secretary-General and Director of the Department of Social Affairs at the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR; Tang Yuk Wa, Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; Ng Sio Lai, President of UGAMM; Lao Kam Leng, President of the Women’s General Association of Macau; Ma Iao Iao, Vice Chairman of the Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society; Leong Meng Ian, Vice Chairman of FAOM; Yuen Chi Hoi, Service Director of Caritas Macau; Ip Kam Bo, Service Director of Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office; Kenneth Feng, President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited; Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of MGM; and Michelle Chiu, Vice President of Human Resources of MGM.
