MGM’s “Macau Space Dream Project” Concludes with Success
Empowering Young Minds to Discover, Create, and Innovate
MGM partners with the Association for Promotion of Science and Technology of Macau and the Chinese Society of Astronautics to organize the “MGM Youth Popular Science Series: Macau Space Dream Project”.

[October 21, 2025, Macau] In alignment with the Macao SAR Government’s policy to cultivate scientific and technological talent, MGM, once again in partnership with the Association for Promotion of Science and Technology of Macau (MAPST) and the Chinese Society of Astronautics (CSA), has successfully concluded the “MGM Youth Popular Science Series: Macau Space Dream Project”. Running since May, the program featured a diverse range of activities, including study tours, aerospace science training, role-playing science games, and artificial intelligence workshops.

The project’s award presentation and closing ceremony was held at the Ballroom of MGM COTAI on October 17, with over 250 students, teachers, and representatives from the scientific community in attendance. The event celebrated the achievements of young people passionate about space exploration and encouraged them to continue exploring the mysteries of the universe.

Following a successful launch last year, the “Macau Space Dream Project” has become the city’s first educational program focused on space science and payload technology, structured around the pillars of “Learning, Practice, and Research.” The inaugural 2024 project, which marked the CSA’s first science education initiative in Macau, was honored as an “Outstanding Event of the 2024 National Science Popularization Day” by the China Association for Science and Technology. Through this initiative, MGM hopes to cultivate local students’ interest in aerospace science, while inspiring Macau’s younger generation to embrace innovation and hands-on learning.

The project features two major components: the “Macau Youth Creative Design Competition of Space Experiment” for Form 2 to 5 students, and the “Call from Deep Space” Experiential Camp for Primary 5 and 6 students. The organizers will sponsor the winning secondary school teams on a space-themed research tour in Wenchang, Hainan, where they will experience the remarkable achievements of China’s space industry, including witnessing a live water-based rocket launch demonstration. The teams will also represent Macau in the “2025 International Space Science and Scientific Payload Competition” (ISSSP 2025), to be held this November in Hong Kong. Outstanding primary school participants joined an in-depth educational tour to Zhuhai in late September. The itinerary included a visit to Zhuhai Aerospace Land, the largest space science education hub in China authorized by the China Manned Space Agency. In addition, the students toured the AVICLUB education base to learn about aviation, observe domestic aircraft assembly lines, and experience flight simulators.

The “MGM Youth Popular Science” series also includes the Macao Science and Technology Association’s 2025 National Youth Science Camp and its sub-camp in Macau. Participants will have the opportunity to visit MGM’s properties and learn firsthand about the Company’s technological applications, enhancing their scientific literacy.

Kenneth Feng, President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, said: “Space exploration represents a vital frontier in the nation’s scientific and technological development. Through the ‘Macau Space Dream Project’, MGM is committed to nurturing Macau’s future talent in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), inspiring young people to explore the universe with curiosity and passion. As the project successfully concludes its second year, we will continue to promote innovative and diverse science education initiatives that enhance students’ problem-solving skills, strengthen their scientific foundation, and empower Macau’s youth to take part in and contribute to the nation’s future in aerospace development.”

Chui Sai Peng Jose, President of the MAPST, said: “The strong participation in this year’s program shows that the seeds of space dreams are taking root and beginning to flourish in Macau. Throughout the program, Macau’s young people have demonstrated interdisciplinary thinking and an innovative spirit. This year also marks the first public appearance of the People's Liberation Army (PLA)'s Aerospace Force at the parade commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War — an occasion that has stirred a strong sense of national pride among our youth. Standing at a historic juncture of scientific self-reliance and technological advancement, Macau’s young generation benefits from the unique advantages of the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ framework, while also carrying the mission entrusted by the nation’s vision of becoming a strong aerospace power.”

Wang Yiran, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the CSA, said: “Aerospace is not only a strategic cornerstone of the nation’s development, but also a shared pursuit for all humankind. I hope that participants of the ‘Macau Space Dream Project’ will take this milestone as a new beginning, integrating what they have learned into their future studies and daily lives, while continuing to nurture their curiosity about the universe and passion for science. I encourage them to become advocates of aerospace knowledge and practitioners of the aerospace spirit, contributing to the advancement of scientific innovation in Macau and to the nation’s aerospace endeavors.”

The “Macau Space Dream Project” is advised by the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) of the Macao SAR Government, and the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) of the Macao SAR Government. The event is supported by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Exchange Office of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST); Beijing Institute of Technology; Chinese Educators Association of Macau; Macau Catholic Schools Association; Macao Civil Service Educational Association; Macao Science Center Limited; and Macau Youth Science Education Association.

Guests attending the award presentation and closing ceremony included representatives from the Central People’s Government Liaison Office in the Macao SAR, the Economic and Technological Development Bureau, the Education and Youth Development Bureau, and several local educational and science associations, alongside MGM executives and supporting organization representatives.
