MGM Hosts Business Matching Session to Support Tech Innovation
Celebrating a Decade of Success with SME Procurement Surpasses 35% of Total Procurement
This year marked the 10th anniversary of the “MGM SME program”.

[October 28, 2025, Macau] Marking the 10th anniversary of its SME program, MGM proudly hosted its 13th SME Business Matching Session. Over the past decade, MGM has forged strong partnerships with local associations to champion SME development, driving impactful support initiatives and fostering meaningful collaboration opportunities to help SMEs grow and thrive.

This year’s business matching session continued MGM’s established model of matching SMEs based on business needs. In support of the Macao SAR Government’s policy to strengthen the tech sector, MGM specially invited members of the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre and companies certified under the Economic and Technological Development Bureau’s “Technology Company Certification Program” to participate. The event attracted 80 SMEs—over half of which were tech companies—underscoring the innovative capabilities of Macau’s SME community.

The “MGM SME Business Matching Session 2025” was co-organized by MGM and the Macao Chamber of Commerce, with support from the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT), the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM), the Industrial Association of Macau, the Macau Union Suppliers Association and the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre (MYEIC). The event was held at the ballroom of MGM MACAU, with officiating guests including: Frederico Ma Chi Ngai, President of the Board of Directors of the Macao Chamber of Commerce; Sam Lei, Executive Director of IPIM; Lau Kit Lon, Head of Economic Activities Development Department of DSEDT; Zhao Su, Assistant to the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Chui Yuk Lum, President of the Industrial Association of Macau; Helena Lei, Chief Senior Manager of CPTTM; Ip Sio Man, President of the Macau Union Suppliers Association; Andy Ng, Director of MYEIC; and Kenneth Feng, President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited.

Kenneth Feng said, “MGM remains deeply committed to supporting Macau’s SMEs through tangible actions. We have taken the lead in helping local enterprises upgrade and transform, integrate into the Greater Bay Area, and expand into both mainland and overseas markets. Over the past decade, our annual business matching sessions have introduced over 2,000 new suppliers to MGM. The share of SME procurement in our total procurement has more than doubled—from 18% in 2016 to over 35% today.”

Frederico Ma Chi Ngai remarked, “SMEs are the cornerstone of Macao’s economy and the cradle of innovation. The Macao Chamber of Commerce will continue to work hand in hand with MGM and other partners, leveraging our role as a ‘platform of platforms’ to build bridges and provide strategic guidance. We look forward to MGM continuing to lead the way as a major leisure enterprise, empowering local SMEs to achieve breakthroughs in talent development, technological upgrades and market expansion, with an aim to accelerate the diversification of Macao’s economy.”

Embracing Tech Innovation to Enhance Experience and Efficiency

To boost Macau’s tech ecosystem, MGM inked a multimillion-dollar procurement agreement with Shiji (Macau) Co., Ltd., a certified potential tech enterprise under DSEDT’s “Technology Company Certification Program.” MGM will adopt Shiji’s next-generation cloud-based hotel information management system, designed for large-scale resort operations. The system will effectively manage high room volumes and complex workflows, significantly enhancing guest experience and operational efficiency.

Advancing Food Safety and International Certification for SMEs

MGM continues to elevate Macau’s food safety standards by launching the “MGM Advanced Food Safety Training Program” in collaboration with CPTTM. The initiative sponsored 16 local SMEs to obtain HACCP Intermediate certification. Additionally, MGM supported 38 SMEs in participating in “Food Safety Training Program” organized by the Industrial Association of Macau—enabling them to achieve international certification and boost competitiveness.

Driving Industry Upgrades and Expanding Market Reach Across the Greater Bay Area and Beyond

Over the past year, MGM has partnered with various organizations to roll out impactful SME support initiatives, empowering Macau brands to expand their presence beyond the local market. In collaboration with the Guangdong Office of the Macau Chamber of Commerce, MGM co-hosted the “Seizing Business Opportunities in the Cooperation Zone” event, which facilitated business matching between MGM team and Macau SMEs in Hengqin, along with site visits to environmental and tech enterprises. Through the “SME Quality Enhancement Greater Bay Area Exchange Tour,” local food industry SMEs were invited to visit model enterprises across the GBA to explore innovative technologies and best management practices.  The “Building the Future Together with the Greater Bay Area” series brought together diverse representatives to share insights on new policies and brand innovation. In Guangzhou, MGM hosted the “Macau Premium Pavilion Market,” featuring 250 products from 29 Macau companies, showcasing the rich diversity and appeal of local brands. MGM also co-organized the ‘city’super 2025 Macau Festival – Flavorsome Journeys in Macau’ product selection and roadshow, supporting Macau brands in further expanding into the Hong Kong market.
