MGM remains committed to promoting the well-being and work-life balance of its team members through a range of engaging activities. Following the success of last year’s culinary competition, the company recently hosted the “MGM Employee Singing Contest”, offering team members a platform to showcase their musical talents and further strengthen camaraderie among colleagues.
The contest drew over 100 participants from diverse departments and nationalities. Twelve finalists advanced to the final round, held on October 21 at the MGM Theater. The atmosphere brimmed with excitement as the finalists delivered captivating performances. In the end, Jeffrey Ip from Casino Marketing Administration, Anson Cheong from Design, Development & Property Operations, and Kimi Cheong from Food & Beverage claimed the Champion, First Runner-up, and Second Runner-up titles respectively.
Kenneth Feng, President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, said: “MGM is truly a place full of hidden talents, where our team members possess a wide range of skills and creativity. We highly value our employees, who are our most valuable assets. Strengthening MGM's family-like culture has always been at the heart of what we do. This competition embodies the strong unity and team spirit within MGM. We hope our team members continue to work happily, care for their physical and mental well-being, cherish time with family and friends, and foster positive energy in the workplace.”
The grand finale was filled with warmth and joy as many contestants’ families and friends attended to show their support. Members of MGM’s senior management, along with numerous team members, were also present to cheer on the performers. Underscoring the event's significance, MGM invited a panel of renowned local musicians to serve as judges, including singer Germano Guilherme, composer and lyricist Joe Lee, Giulio Acconci from the band Soler, musician Gary Tang, and vocal coach Bryan Chio, joined by Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of MGM.
During the intermission, Daniel Chan, Music Director of the residency show Macau 2049, led a choir formed by team members of the show in a special performance of a rearranged version of Blue and White Porcelain. The performance received an enthusiastic round of applause from the audience.
Champion Jeffrey Ip from Casino Marketing Administration shared his joy, saying: “It’s truly an honor to stand out among so many talented colleagues. I was quite nervous during my performance, but seeing my teammates cheering for me from the audience gave me great confidence. I’m deeply grateful to them and to the Company for offering us this wonderful platform to express our creativity and passion. Today also marks my first work anniversary, which makes this award even more meaningful.”
