MGM DEBUTS "FOUR VOICES, ONE COURT" FORUM CELEBRATING WOMEN IN SPORT
Kicking Off the Two-Day 2025 MGM Macau Tennis Masters
Grand Slam champions Li Na and Conchita Martínez, alongside rising next-generation talents Mirra Andreeva and Alexandra Eala—for an intergenerational dialogue on women’s influence in sport.

The highly anticipated 2025 MGM Macau Tennis Masters takes place today and tomorrow (27 - 28 December) at the Macao Forum! To kick off the excitement, MGM hosted an exclusive sharing session, “Four Voices, One Court”, this morning (27 December) at The Fantasy Box in MGM MACAU. The event brought together Grand Slam champions and International Tennis Hall of Famers Li Na and Conchita Martínez, alongside Filipino rising star  Alexandra Eala, for a first-of-its-kind cross-generational dialogue. Moderated by former Hong Kong Olympian Robyn Lamsam, the heartfelt conversation spanned topics from the tennis court to life philosophies, adding a deeper, inspiring dimension to the weekend’s tournament.

During the session, the players reflected on their initial motivations for choosing tennis, the challenges of professional careers, and the journey of reshaping identity beyond the court. The forum offered a candid exchange that highlighted the resilience and inner strength defining female athletes behind their competitive glory.

Li Na shared that after achieving her dreams and gaining immense attention, her biggest lesson was reminding herself to "perform like a champion not only on the court, but also off the court." She expressed a desire to instill confidence in others, believing that with hard work, they can surpass her achievements. She also encouraged the younger generation to "Be brave and be yourself; give yourself the chance to try and fail in order to achieve your dreams." Conchita Martínez looked back on how she first connected with tennis, using her own experiences to encourage young players to enjoy the process with a smile and passion, maintaining the positive mindset that "pressure is a privilege." Alexandra Eala shared how family support shaped her path and spoke openly about growing up in an environment with fewer established pathways, she learned to love the sport and have fun during the intense moments and hardships,  encouraging young athletes not to become “the next” anyone, but to be “the first” themselves.

While their stories differ, they collectively demonstrated the resilience, passion, and courage shared by female athletes across different cultures and generations. The session not only revealed the real stories behind the halos of these star athletes but also added a human perspective to the upcoming matches.

MGM remains committed to supporting the Macao SAR Government's vision of building a "City of Sports" and advancing “Tourism+” cross-sector integration through international sporting events. Open to the public, the sharing session attracted over 300 participants, including university faculty and students, representatives from sports and youth associations, corporate partners and athletes. Many young players and students noted that the session offered valuable insight and inspiration drawn from the athletes’ personal journeys.

Following the sharing session, the 2025 MGM Macau Tennis Masters officially commenced at 2:00PM at the Macao Forum. The opening day features the entertaining Captains Challenge, followed by two men’s singles matches and one doubles match. Action continues on 28 December with further singles clashes and the Awards Ceremony. Throughout the weekend, spectators can also enjoy a range of exclusive interactive activities, and autograph sessions, ensuring an unforgettable fan experience.

Beyond the on-court action, the players are also engaging with the local community. On 26 December, they conducted a tennis clinic for local junior players, sharing skills and experiences. Looking ahead to Sunday morning (28 December), they will participate in a specially curated Food and Local Culture Experience at Rua da Praia do Manduco and Barra Kitchen in the Barra District. There, they will sample authentic local flavours and gain a first-hand insight into Macau’s unique blend of heritage, tradition, and cuisine, in line with the event theme: “Play. Celebrate. Repeat.

Co-organised by MGM and the new global events and experiences company MARI, the 2025 MGM Macau Tennis Masters is honoured to have the support of the Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government, Macao Government Tourism Office, and the Macau Tennis Association, together with our distinguished partners, including the official outfitter FILA, official airline EVA AIR and the official water Bonaqua.
