MGM Fosters Youth Diversified Development, Advancing Craftsmanship and “Creative City of Gastronomy”
Over 9,000 Participants Engaged in Two Flagship Training Programs
Representatives from government and partner organizations visited MGM’s two flagship programs and interacted with participants.

[June 18, 2026, Macau] MGM remains committed to advancing youth development and nurturing talent in Macau by offering diversified learning platforms that integrate skills training with potential discovery for primary and secondary students. Two flagship initiatives —“Craftsmanship Series: Young Craftsman Workshop” and the “MGM Youth Development Series: Youth Culinary Experiential Program”—have garnered strong recognition from both the industry and participants. Earlier, both programs were held again at the Seac Pai Van Vocational Technical Education Activity Centre. MGM invited representatives from government and partner organizations to visit the workshops and interact with participating students.

The “Craftsmanship Series: Young Craftsman Workshop”, designed for local primary school students, aims to cultivate focus, patience, and a pursuit of excellence from an early age—core values of craftsmanship. Through thematic sharing, students gain a deeper understanding of craftsmanship, while hands-on workshops led by MGM team members introduce intangible cultural heritage techniques and related traditions. The Workshop fosters creativity and practical abilities through experiential learning. Co-organized by MGM, the Guangdong Federation of Trade Unions, and the Macau Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM), and supported by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government (DSEDJ) and the Macao Youth Federation, the initiative has conducted 30 sessions since its launch in 2020, attracting nearly 7,000 participants from 29 schools across Macau.

In parallel, MGM has launched the “MGM Youth Development Series: Youth Culinary Experiential Program”, which focuses on cultivating future talent for Macau’s food and beverage industry while reinforcing the city’s status as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Targeting local secondary school students, the program integrates e-learning with hands-on practice under the professional guidance of MGM’s culinary team. Participants gain practical cooking experience, enhance vocational skills, strengthen teamwork, and deepen their understanding of the industry. Co-organized by MGM, the DSEDJ, and the Macau Cuisine Association, the program has engaged over 2,000 students from 15 secondary schools since its launch in 2023.

Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of MGM, said:
“Over the years, MGM has developed a systematic and highly effective talent development model. We have extended this mature framework into the community by transforming it into youth-oriented learning platforms. This not only showcases our achievements in talent development, but also underscores our unwavering commitment to nurturing future generations. The two programs have engaged over 9,000 participants to date. Moving forward, MGM will continue to uphold its commitment to talent development and sustainable social progress, leveraging its industry strengths and training expertise to build a more structured and coherent development pathway for local youth, and nurture globally competitive talent for Macau.”

Guests attending the visit included: Sun Zhijun, Director of the Department of Social Development of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R; Leong I On, Head of the Secondary Education Division, and Chan Chak In, Head of the Continuing Education Division, of the DSEDJ; Kong Ioi Fai, Chairman of the FAOM; Si Iat, Vice Chairman of the Macao Youth Federation; Xu Youde, Principal of Macao Sam Yuk Middle School; Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of MGM; Francis Tan, Vice President of Learning & Talent Management of MGM; and Benjamin Hong, Executive Director of Learning & Talent Development of MGM.
