[July 17, 2026, Macau] MGM is honored to announce that Five Foot Road, its signature Chengdu-Sichuanese restaurant at MGM COTAI, has been recognized by 50 Best Discovery, becoming the first Chengdu-Sichuan restaurant in Macau to be featured on the prestigious global guide. The inclusion reflects Five Foot Road's dedication in preserving and celebrating authentic Chengdu culinary heritage. Through its meticulous craftsmanship and immersive interpretation of Chengdu's culinary traditions, the restaurant showcases the depth and diversity of Chinese regional cuisine to near and far, while reinforcing Macau's status as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
As an extension of the annual 50 Best rankings, the 50 Best Discovery is a highly curated digital guide designed for discerning travelers, diners and cocktail enthusiasts seeking exceptional hospitality experiences around the world. The platform features outstanding hospitality establishments across more than 800 cities and towns worldwide, shining a spotlight on remarkable dining and travel destinations. Featured venues are selected through recommendations from over 3,000 academy members, representing some of the world's most respected voices in travel and hospitality.
Since opening in 2018, Five Foot Road has presented classic Sichuan cuisine inspired by the grandeur of 1940s Chengdu mansion banquets, reintroducing the cuisine’s “hundred flavors” beyond its commonly perceived fiery profile. Helmed by Executive Sous Chef Yang Dengquan, a Chengdu native with more than four decades of culinary excellence and a second-generation inheritor of traditional Chengdu mansion cuisine, the restaurant showcases the depth and elegance of authentic Sichuanese gastronomy beyond its commonly perceived fiery profile. Chef Yang faithfully presents the sophistication of the cuisine's celebrated 24-flavor profiles, illuminating the artistry, precision and cultural richness that have defined Chengdu's culinary heritage for generations, an unwavering dedication to excellence that has earned the restaurant a MICHELIN One Star recognition for four consecutive years since 2023.
