In celebration of the 130th anniversary of Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society (Tung Sin Tong), MGM has organized an exclusive “Golden Lion Tour”, a sumptuous one-day sightseeing tour of MGM COTAI and Macau, for over 100 seniors from two of Tung Sin Tong’s elderly care centers. Accompanied by 50 Golden Lion Volunteer Team members, the elderly group toured around the city and watched the “Macao: Back to Common Roots Narrative Film”. Through hosting this event, MGM hopes to make great moments for the elderly and extend care and support to them.
The special “Golden Lion Tour” was a fun-packed full-day event that also enabled participants to see and know about Macau from fresh perspectives. The day started at MGM COTAI, where the elderly group watched the “Macao: Back to Common Roots Narrative Film” and learned more about the city’s history. A lineup of special guests also joined the event, including Chiang Sao Meng, Vice Chairman of Board of Directors of Tung Sin Tong; Agnes Fok, Kevin Ho, Charles Choy, Directors of Tung Sin Tong; Lok Hei, Producer of the Narrative Film, also an acclaimed artist of Macau; Kenneth Feng, President, Chief Strategic & Financial Officer of MGM; and Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of MGM.
After the film, the group enjoyed lunch at the hotel’s ballroom where the special guests and volunteers demonstrated some finger exercises for dementia prevention, alongside some fun game sessions and singing performances to stir up the joyous atmosphere. Gift bags were also distributed to each participant as a token of appreciation. The day concluded with a tour around Macau led by MGM volunteers, where the elderly group visited the Macau Museum, Macao Science Center, Macao Museum of Art and Communication Museum.
Kenneth Feng, President, Chief Strategic & Financial Officer of MGM, said, “Caring for the elderly and nurturing the youth are the priorities of our community service. With the goal of ‘Building a Better Macau’ together, we continue to roll out innovative and diversified services with different sectors of the community. We are thrilled to be a long-term partner of Tung Sin Tong, one of the oldest charities in town, serving our community together for over a decade and celebrating its 130th anniversary with this meaningful event. We look forward to organizing more community care events with Tung Sing Tong as well as other associations for the sake of contributing more to our city.”
Chiang Sao Meng, Vice Chairman of Board of Directors of Tung Sin Tong, said, “We thank MGM’s support and devotion in making our elderly enjoyable with this fruitful event. It was a good occasion to gather different walks of lives and showed our care and respect to the elderly, echoing the service ethos of Tung Sin Tong. With the great support of various community sectors, our services will continue to be practical, innovative and diversified to serve more people in need.”
