Paving the Way for Future Career Advancement
MGM’s local team members successfully completed the in-house high school diploma program. Their family members and department heads attended the graduation ceremony and witnessed their great success.

Paving the Way for Future Career Advancement

Guided by the goal of Unleashing the Greatness of Our Local Talent, MGM strengthens its effort in providing various training programs for local employees of all ages, promoting life-long learning in the workplace. Last month, a total of seven local team members who had enrolled in the MGM High School Diploma Program successfully completed the related courses and received their diplomas from Escola Secundária Luso-Chinesa de Luís Gonzaga Gomes (ESLC). Their family members and department heads also attended the graduation ceremony and witnessed their achievements.

MGM understands that going to school while working full-time and taking care of family at the same time can be a challenge for its team members. Therefore, the company partnered with ESLC under the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) to provide complimentary education for local team members seeking to complete their high school diploma. The MGM High School Diploma Program highlights that classes take place at the company, with re-arranged rosters to better accommodate team members’ study. This encourages participants to complete all necessary courses to earn their qualifications, which is essential to career advancement. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be presented with junior high and high school diploma certificates, recognized by DSEJ.

One of the graduates, Ms. Li Jing, Table Games Dealer, said, “I always dream of going back to school. I felt sorry for myself for not studying enough, and it seemed not possible for me to further my studies as I work on shifts. After joining the MGM High School Diploma Program, the company re-arranged my work schedule, which allowed me to pursue my dream. I’m still excited about graduating! I’m so grateful to the company for giving me this opportunity to learn and I’ll like to go to university someday if I have the chance.”

Mr. Graeme Croft, Vice President of Table Games of MGM, said, “Our Company supports our team members 100 percent! We always encourage them to further their education. Work-school-family balance isn’t easy as determination and persistence are essential. As supervisors, we need to provide them with our greatest support and flexibility so as to help them achieve their learning goals.”
