MGM Donates RMB 2 Million to Support Poverty Alleviation in Congjiang, Guizhou
MGM donates a total of RMB 2 million to Congjiang, Guizhou in supporting poverty alleviation.

For MGM is ardently committed to pragmatically advocate national development, the Company attaches great importance to the national poverty alleviation works. Indicating MGM’s commitment in supporting the joint efforts on poverty relief in Congjiang County, Guizhou Province, as initiated by the Macau SAR government and the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government's in the Macau S.A.R., Ms. Pansy Ho, Co-Chairperson & Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, led a group of delegates from MGM to visit Guiyang to donate a total of RMB 2 million cash and supply to Congjiang. This donation illustrates MGM’s determination in supporting poverty alleviation, endeavoring towards the great national goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects by 2020.

 

During the cheque presentation ceremony, Ms. Pansy Ho presents the donation to Mr. Wang Rui, Secretary of Communist Party of China Congjiang County Committee, as the representative of Congjiang government. The ceremony is witnessed by Mr. Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Mr. Wang Xindong, Secretary General of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macau SAR; Mr. Lu Yongzheng, Vice Governor of Guizhou Province; Ms. Hu Guozhen, Vice Governor of Qiandongnan Prefecture; Mr. Tan Yufang, Deputy Director of the Poverty Alleviation and Development Office of Guizhou Province, and Mr. Dai Ruming, Deputy Director of Social Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macau SAR. The donation is dedicated to enhance infrastructure and facility, as well as to purchase basic supply for the poor households at the town of Luoxiang, to improve their living conditions and prepare them for the coming winter.

 

Mr. Wang Xindong, Secretary General of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macau SAR said, “MGM adheres its loyalty to both the country and Macau. This donation truly emphasizes MGM’s dedication on fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities, which also indicates the Company’s heartfelt support towards national development. Supporting poverty alleviation is of everyone’s responsibility, and we believe that this donation by MGM is going to generate a positive impact to our society.”
