MGM Team Members Visits Chinese Historical Documentary Exhibition
Learning the History of the Nation with Over 100 Precious Exhibits
A group of 30 MGM team members visited the “Historical Documentary Exhibition for Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR”.

Always encouraging team members to treasure every opportunity to learn about our nation, MGM gathered a group of 30 team members, led by Ms. Wendy Yu, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, to visit the “Historical Documentary Exhibition for Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR” yesterday at the Handover Gift Museum of Macao. The exhibition is co-organized by Associação Comercial de Macau, Associação de Amizade de Membros da Conferência Consultiva Política do Povo Chinês na Instância de Província de Macau and the National Library of China. MGM aims to provide its team members a fruitful dose of in depth knowledge of the history of the PRC and the development of Macau through this visit.

As one of the major celebration events of Double Celebrations, the exhibition features 100 pieces of precious historical photos, documents and books borrowed from the National Library of China, including La Jeunesse, one of the key enablers of the May Fourth Movement, documents of Sino-Portuguese Joint Declaration, as well as old photos and maps of the 19th century Macau. These exhibits are some of the greatest testimonies of the arduous journey of China as well as Macau. The exhibition at the same time highlights draft drawings and prototypes of the gift from the Central Government to Macau in celebration of Macau’s Return, Lotus Flower in Full Bloom, borrowed from the artist Guo Bao Zai to introduce the background and significances of this iconic sculpture of Macau. Team members gained much from the visit with the informative sharing offered by the exhibition guide on site, where they also experience the intimate tie between the country and Macau.

Ms. Wendy Yu expressed her thoughts on behalf of the group, “MGM highly recognizes the importance of national education. With the aim of cultivating team members’ patriotism and deepening their knowledge of our country, we have organized series of national education seminars, and will continue conducting more insightful events to enlighten our team members. The exhibition is indeed an eye-opener as it vividly presents many significant events through these precious historical documents. There is also a dedicated section about the history of Macau, in which we were able to connect and acknowledge the great support extended to us by our country.”
