MGM Hosted the Tenth “Health Day for Senior Buddies”
Over 1,800 Local Senior Citizens Benefitted Since 2010
MGM hosts the tenth “Health Day for Senior Buddies” event for over 200 senior citizens.

Succeeding the Company’s annual philanthropic tradition, MGM hosted the “Haircut and Health Day for Senior Buddies” event for more than 200 local senior citizens from nine local associations under the Caritas Macau and the Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society at MGM MACAU’s Grand Ballroom. Having been hosting for 10 consecutive years, this signature event continued to provide free health consultations since 2010, which has benefited a total of over 1,800 local senior citizens to date. This year, complimentary haircut services were especially offered to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this event.

MGM welcomed over 200 senior citizens from nine local associations under the Caritas Macau, including, Centro de Dia da Ilha Verde, Centro Pastoral da Areia Preta, Longevity Special Day Care Center, Centro de Dia “Brilho da Vida”, “Praia do Manduco” Centre for the Elderly, Casa Ricci Elderly Center, S. Francis Xavier Home for the Aged, Asilo de Santa Maria and Betania Elderly Home, and Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society. Medical practitioners from the Chinese Medicine Association of Macau were invited for another year to provide free one-on-one health consultations together with selections of Chinese herbal soups curated to cater different needs of well-being. Over 70 MGM Volunteer Team members served and entertained the participants, while they waited for their health consultations. In addition to on-site Chinese medical consultations, there were also live performances, interactive fun games, lucky draw, and refreshments offered to brighten up their day.

MGM has added a new element to the event this year, where 30 MGM Golden Lion Hairdressing Team members joined and offered complimentary haircuts to 100 of the participating senior citizens to freshen up their hairstyles for the hot summer days ahead. Since its establishment in 2015, the well trained MGM Volunteer Hairdressing Team has been providing free haircuts on a monthly basis, benefiting over 2,000 senior citizens.

Kelly Chau from Food and Beverage Department shared her volunteering experience on the event, “Having been volunteering in this event for 5 consecutive years, this year I came as a member of MGM Hairdressing Team to serve with my haircutting skills for the first time. I enjoy volunteering activities to get a better understanding on our senior buddies and on what they actually needs, most importantly it allows me to spread positive energy to them.”
