MGM Invites Artists of Fuhong Society to Design CNY Gifts
Showcase the Infinite Possibility of Art by Autistic Talents
MGM invited Leong Ieng Wai and Ip Chi Kin, two autistic artists of Fuhong Society of Macau to take part in its CNY campaign design.

This Chinese New Year, MGM is collaborating with Fuhong Society of Macau to embrace the artistic talent of their gifted autistic artists Leong Ieng Wai and Ip Chi Kin – through the integration of their artwork to the design of its festive campaign and gifts, which includes CNY pudding gift box packaging, red packets, red banners and more. The collaboration aims to showcase the extraordinary talent of artists with disabilities to the public, and more importantly to sprinkle the purposeful message of social inclusion on top of the jubilant festivity.

The two artists have created “Prosperous Golden Lion 0.38” and “Jubilant Golden Lion in the House” for MGM’s CNY campaign. Under the theme of “Golden Lion”, the symbol of MGM, both artworks capture the fascinating livelihood of lions with each of their own distinctive artistic style. Leong Ieng Wai, also known as “0.38” because of his love in using 0.38mm black ballpoint, is good at drawing portraits, architectures and vehicles in a delicate manner with his fine ink strokes. MGM started collaborating with Leong since 2016, where he was first invited to design corporate souvenir notepads; thereafter, MGM selected a drawing of his depicting the exterior of MGM COTAI and enlarged it into a mural displayed at the executive office. On the other hand, Ip Chi Kin is fond of using acrylic paint to create bold artwork with vivid colors, and this marks the artist’s very first collaboration with a large enterprise.

Jennifer Chau, Director of Fuhong Society of Macau, said, “Both MGM and Fuhong share the belief that each person has their own special potential and talent. We started working together years ago and Leong was invited to take part in their projects, like designing corporate souvenirs and mural for their office. The series of collaborations have truly demonstrated MGM’s appreciation and respect towards the talent of artists with disabilities. This latest CNY project initiated by MGM is without doubt another great recognition dedicated to our artists, and most importantly a beautiful illustration of social inclusion.”

MGM’s homemade CNY pudding gift boxes are all packaged in the design of the two artists. Pudding vouchers are available for sale from now till February 10 at Pastry Bar, Imperial Court, North and South by Square Eight at MGM MACAU, and Hao Guo, Chún, Five Foot Road, Anytime and Miàn Duì Miàn at MGM COTAI. Puddings will be available for redemption from January 25 to February 10 at Pastry Bar and Anytime.

Extending the CNY blessing while promoting social inclusion, MGM continues to partner with Fuhong and Casa de Peliseo Sam Meng Chi of Macau Association for the Mentally Handicapped, to prepare Fortune Bags for hotel guests who stay in MGM MACAU or MGM COTAI during the first three days of CNY.
