MGM China Holdings Limited (“MGM China” or the “Company”; SEHK Stock Code: 2282) is honored to announce that the Company has been selected as a constituent of the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index (“HSSUSB”) with immediate effect based on its outstanding performance in environmental, social and governance (ESG).  MGM China is also evaluated as one of the top 20% best-in-class ESG performers within the 517 listed companies assessed in the Index’s evaluation exercise this year, and the only Macau-based company to be included as a member of the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index Series in 2023-2024.

The HSSUSB, part of the prestigious Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index Series, provides an objective and reliable benchmark for sustainability investments. Only the top 20% securities with the highest sustainability performance score would be selected as constituents of the Index. The seven aspects rated by the assessment framework include: corporate governance, human rights, labour practices, environment, fair operating practices, consumer issues, and community involvement and development. Review for this assessment is conducted annually and by invitation only.

MGM China’s firm commitment to sustainability in its operations and reporting with integrity had previously been recognized with the bronze award for “Asia’s Best Sustainability Report (First Time)” for its Sustainability Report 2020 at the Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (“ASRA”) 2021. The Company is also proud to be Macau’s first and only entity to be recognized by ASRA, one of the world’s most prestigious awards for excellence in sustainability reporting.

The Company was also named a top 10 performer in the Greater China Hotel Business Sustainability Index (Hotel BSI) and among the top 20 in the Greater Bay Area Business Sustainability Index (GBABSI) by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School’s “2020 Business Sustainability Indices” program.  These are testaments to MGM’s commitment to responsible and sustainable operations and activities, which made it a paradigm in the Greater Bay Area and Greater China.
