MGM held the annual blessing ceremony for its Dragon Boat Team at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Center earlier. Led by a team of MGM’s senior executives, the ceremony was to extend best wishes to 55 MGM team members, who will take part in the “2024 Macao International Dragon Boat Races”. Comprised of almost 95% of local team members, the Dragon Boat Team will compete across four categories in six teams.
Senior executives of MGM, including Hubert Wang, President and Chief Operating Officer of MGM China Holdings Limited; Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources of MGM; Han Tian, Executive Vice President of Gaming Operations & Strategic Marketing of MGM, performed a series of traditional rituals, such as offering incense, carving a suckling pig and more, with the Golden Lion Dance Team’s on-site cheering for the Dragon Boat Team. The ceremony was then drawn to a successful closing to wish for a great and safe dragon boat race.
Hubert Wang, President and Chief Operating Officer of MGM China Holdings Limited, said, “MGM has always encouraged its team member to proactively participate in various sports activities for physical fitness. We will continue to steadfastly support the Dragon Boat Race as it is not only an intangible cultural heritage rooted in traditional Chinese culture which showcases the vitality and prowess of Macau as the ‘City of Sports’, but it also unites different communities. Our Dragon Boat Team has been scoring exceptionally in the past races, bringing us pride and encouragement. Therefore, we would like to extend our best wishes to the team for an outstanding performance in the upcoming race.”
