MGM Named Highest Corporate Donor of Orbis Raffle Sale for Eighth Year
Team Effort and Compassion Pave the Way for Chart-Topping Results
MGM presented a check worth MOP230,000 to Orbis Macau

[Macau – June 9, 2016] For the eighth year in a row, MGM tops the chart as the highest fund-raising corporate donor of the Orbis Raffle Campaign. This year, MGM raised MOP 230,000 to help Orbis Macau in preventing avoidable and treatable blindness for the visually impaired kids.

On the afternoon of June 1, Mr. Grant Bowie, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited and Ms. Wendy Yu, Senior Vice President of Human Resources of MGM and two Golden Lion Team members who are the highest donors among the team, warmly welcomed Ms. Vivian Lo, Director of Development of Orbis Macau and Ms. Carmen Tavares, Assistant Development Manager of Orbis Macau at MGM. They then presented a check worth MOP230,000 to Orbis Macau.

The Golden Lion Team members participated the “Orbis Raffle 2016” sale campaign between April 11 and 15, and showed an overwhelming response within a short period of time, to support Orbis’ sight-saving work in the developing nations.

Ms. Vivian Lo, Director of Development of Orbis Macau, said, “Sustainability is at the heart of Orbis’ sight-saving mission; we build medical capacities that last. MGM’s long-term and continuous support in both donation and volunteer participation nicely reflected the Orbis’ values. We are grateful in joining hands with MGM to raise public awareness on eye health as well as helping those in need.”

MGM has been an avid supporter in community and philanthropy initiatives, including the long-term collaboration with Orbis Macau in support of its sight-saving work. Since 2009, MGM has been participating in the annual Orbis Raffle Campaign and co-organizing a number of innovative fundraising programs. More than MOP2.1 million in cash and in-kind was raised for Orbis Macau over the years. Through the activities, MGM encourages team members to participate and spread the message of living a happy, wholesome life and to Create a Better Tomorrow Today for every member of the local community.
