[MACAU, May 26, 2014]  MGM MACAU reinforces its commitment to make a contribution to the environment with the addition of the eco-friendly Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid in its limousine fleet, becoming the first hotel-resort in Macau and Hong Kong to have acquired this green model to serve its clients. 

The new S400 Hybrid is Mercedes-Benz’s first production hybrid.  It uses next-generation lithium ion battery technology, which facilitates efficient charging and discharging.  This results in lower emissions and better fuel efficiency, thus making a direct, positive impact on the environment of Macau.  Under normal driving mode, the front motor and gasoline engine operate in tandem while storing electricity in the battery at the same time.  During parking or low-speed driving, it operates solely via the electric motor with no gasoline use at all—a feature that is suitable for the busy streets of Macau.

Meanwhile, MGM MACAU has also replaced its shuttle buses with vehicles that produce lower carbon emissions.  They are equipped with extra battery to provide air-conditioning and internal lighting—even when the engine is left idling—adding to the comfort of both our guests inside the vehicle as well as those in the waiting area as this special feature plays a part in keeping the temperature of the surrounding area at comfortable levels.
