MGM Donates Anti-epidemic Supplies to Tung Sin Tong

Supporting Local Charity Organizations in Fighting the Epidemic

Mar 11, 2020

MGM always has a caring heart for the local community. Dedicated to support local charity work in the midst of this coronavirus epidemic, MGM donated 45 temperature guns, along with hand sanitizers and other anti-epidemic supplies to Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society on top of supporting their annual fundraising, which has accumulated a total of MOP5.4 million donation in the past 12 consecutive years. This donation of supplies intends to strengthen the anti-epidemic measures for daycare centers, primary and secondary schools as well as elderly activity centers of the Society when their services resume. It also provides extra protection to the medical personnel of their clinics and Chinese pharmacies, so that they can serve our citizens in a safe manner.

On behalf of the Company, Mr. Grant Bowie, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director; Mr. Kenneth Feng, President, Chief Strategic Officer and Director of MGM China Holdings Limited; Ms. Wendy Yu, Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Ms. Irene Wong, Vice President of Public and Community Relations of MGM, presented the donation to the Tung Sin Tong delegation, including Mr. José Chui, President of Board of Directors; Mr. Charles Choy, Mr. Lei Kit Heng and Mr. Alberto Lei, Directors.

Mr. José Chui, President of Board of Directors of Tung Sin Tong, said, “The epidemic is now gaining pace around the world. All of a sudden, supplies like temperature guns and hand sanitizers are in high demand, and purchasing has become an absolute challenge. Therefore, we are really thankful for MGM’s prompt support. This series of anti-epidemic supplies offers us a more comprehensive protection and allows us to provide services to our citizens as usual.”

The coronavirus epidemic in Macau is now initially under control, yet it is still not time to loosen up our anti-epidemic efforts. Throughout the previous weeks, MGM continued to donate supplies to community groups in need, offering them extra support to fight the epidemic. Earlier, MGM donated hand sanitizers to the disabled community and drug rehabilitation organizations in enhancing their anti-epidemic preparedness for reopening, beneficiaries included Concordia School for Special Education, Macau Association for the Mentally Handicapped, Macau Association of Support for the Disabled, and Association of Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers of Macao.
